Square Enix has released a new update for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5, updating the game version to 1.040, focusing on bug fixes and improving the performance of the JRPG.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Update 1.040 Out Now
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of the best games of 2024 so far, despite not meeting Square Enix’s high sales expectations. Currently, it remains exclusive to PlayStation 5.
Tetsuya Nomura and his team are continuing to work on the third part of the trilogy, which will conclude the story that began in 2020 with Final Fantasy VII Remake. If you have a PS5, it would be a good idea to try Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, a deep JRPG that follows the adventures of Cloud, Aeris, Tifa, Barret, and company after the destruction of Midgar.
The previous update for the title was crucial as it addressed a bug that was preventing some players from achieving the platinum trophy. Be aware that a new patch is now available.
This is patch 1.040, which can be downloaded right now in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Similar to the previous update, it does not introduce new playable features.
Patch Notes 1.040
- Correction of errors that very occasionally prevented progress in the game under certain conditions.
- Fixes that allow players to purchase photo frames if an error occurs that would prevent their purchase after meeting the relevant unlock conditions.
- Bug fixes that occur under specific circumstances in battle.
- Fixed a bug where information was not displayed on the screen when selecting to play phase 2 of the Gambit Gears minigame in Hard mode.
- Correction of several display errors.
- Improvements to the overall stability of the game. As you can see, the most notable new features are bug fixes.
Some are related to gameplay, while others affect the proper display of the game. Furthermore, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth should run better (no specific technical improvements mentioned) after applying this update. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been available exclusively for PlayStation 5 since February 29.
The plan is that its sequel will be released in three years, towards the end of this console generation.
