Square Enix and Capcom have announced a Monster Hunter crossover for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and revealed skins for Cloud, Zack, Tifa, and Aerith.
Monster Hunter & Final Fantasy Ever Crisis Crossover
In 2020, Square Enix released the first part of their Final Fantasy VII remake, with the second part, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, arriving in February of that year. However, another type of remake came last year with Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. This installment recreates the most important moments of Final Fantasy VII and its spin-offs and will soon have a crossover with Monster Hunter.
Square Enix announced today that a Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis x Monster Hunter crossover is on the way and will be available on mobile devices and PC starting May 30. The crossover event begins Thursday at 7:00 am PT and will be playable on Steam and mobile devices (iOS and Android).
In the announcement post for the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and Monster Hunter crossover, we saw the content coming to the game, such as Monster Hunter armor for Zack and Cloud Strife. Additionally, Square Enix showcased new skins for Tifa Lockhart and Aerith based on Monster Hunter outfits.
As part of the Monster Hunter crossover with Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, Cloud will receive the Glavenus armor set, Zack will get the Zinogre armor set, Tifa will receive the Kirin armor set, and Aerith will get the Hinoa armor set. Monster Hunter-themed swimwear was also announced as part of a summer event for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, along with a new chapter based on First Soldier featuring Vincent as a playable character.
The Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis x Monster Hunter crossover begins this Thursday, May 30, so we don’t have to wait long to try this new content. Among the campaigns added to the game is one based on the original Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, Before Crisis, and even Advent Children, although we will need to use gacha mechanics to obtain new outfits for the cast of characters.
If you want to better understand how FFVII Ever Crisis recreated the story of the original game, you’ll need to buy Final Fantasy VII, which, despite being 27 years old, remains a very enjoyable RPG.
