The post Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Everything You Need to Know appeared first on Fextralife.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide, we’ll be talking about everything you could possibly know about Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2. We’re going to cover specializations, inclinations, romance, skills, commands, everything. If you’ve been wanting to know good information regarding pawns, we’ll be talking about it in this article. We’ll be discussing Pawns in-depth, so you can be able to use them optimally in your Dragon’s Dogma 2 playthrough.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Pawns

Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be your companion throughout the whole game. You will have a main pawn which you can fully customize from the appearance, down to their vocation and personality. You can hire a maximum of 3 pawns, excluding your main pawn. Your pawns will be able to call out crucial information about the enemies, support you in combat, and also play a part in the main storyline. Your pawns will be a huge part of your adventure, as they will accompany you in combat and in exploration.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Inclinations

Inclinations are your pawn’s behavior. You can choose between four inclinations during character creation. These are: kindhearted, calm, simple, and straightforward.

dd2-character-creation-pawn-help

Calm is a type of personality for your pawn that’s going to make them tidy with their inventory. They’ll dispose items that don’t seem useful, like rotten food, and also prevent you from eating things like that. Calm pawns also tend to play more defensively in combat and are more inclined to use ranged attacks. This means that this inclination will be good on ranged vocations such as a mage or an archer.

Kindhearted pawns are very friendly, prioritizing aiding and saving allies in combat. For instance, if one of your other pawns is downed, they might carry them over to you. This is very good on mage pawns, as they are inclined to heal their party. You can also put it on vocations you think might you want to be a support for your party.

Simple is an inclination that makes a pawn want to explore areas. They’ll be gathering items, hand you things they find, craft curatives and implements that can help you. It’s really good too have one in your party, especially if you don’t like picking up all the loot off of bodies after combat.

A straightforward inclination is more of a blunt and outspoken pawn. Someone who’s going to say what they’re thinking, but also keeping an eye out for enemies during combat. They also tend to head straight into combat, going all out offensively. This would be a really good inclination for thieves, fighters, warriors, or even sorcerers. It’s good to have at least one straightforward pawn in your party, so you should be looking for that in your pawns.

If you are not happy with the choice of inclination for your pawn, you can buy an incense from the Guild Vendor over at Vernworth Pawn Guild. This will change your main pawn’s inclination over to the type of incense you buy, which will cost 2000 Rift Crystals. After buying the incense, you can set-up a campsite and give it to your main pawn. You cannot change the inclination of pawns that you hire, so you should always consider a pawn’s inclination before hiring them.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Specializations

Pawn Specializations is a new feature in Dragon’s Dogma 2. They are skills that can only be acquired by your Main Pawn, allowing them to act independently. This means that it will have both benefits and consequences depending on which specialization your Main Pawn has. These inclinations are: Aphonite, Chirurgeon, Forager, Hawker, Logistician, and Woodland Wordsmith. You can get these specializations by finding the tomes respective to them, and making your Main Pawn consume it. Doing this also overrides the current specialization of your main pawn, so you can change it whenever you want. You can get these tomes as quest rewards or gaining favor with NPCs. You can look on the wiki if you want to see the exact NPCs or locations you can get the tomes from.

dd2-specialization-tome-location-list
Specialization Tome

The Logistician specialization allows your pawn to optimize loot in your inventory. They will also combine and craft items for you to lighten up your load. It’s random when they do this, so it can either be beneficial or bad depending on its timing. In my opinion, this isn’t that great of a specialization because it can end up harming you early on in the game. Later on in the game, with having plenty of loot, this might come in handy as your pawn will reorganize things in your inventory to make things easier.

Chirurgeon allows your pawn to heal you and your other pawns with curatives. If you give them healing consumables, they will use them on you and your party whenever you need healing. This is kind of a double-edged sword like Logistician. If you have a mage in your party healing you, then you might not want your pawn to use curatives when it’s not necessary. I don’t find this specialization great, but it’s not terrible to have if you have a mage as your main pawn.

Woodland Wordsmith allows your pawn to translate the Elvish language for you. You’ll be able to understand what the vendors and NPCs are saying in Sacred Arbor. This is only useful if you’re buying items or upgrading gear at the blacksmith. Otherwise, it isn’t really that useful. If you put this on your pawn, it’s going to be more likely that they’ll get hired because they’ll be at the Sacred Arbor part of the game.

Hawker is a specialization in which your pawn will offer to sell your things when you are heavy. When you’re camping, you can talk to them so that they will clear out almost everything in your inventory while giving you gold for it. This is a specialization you have to be careful in, because you might accidentally sell items you don’t want to sell. It won’t sell your equipment and camping kit, but they might sell your potions, curatives, and ammunitions. This can be good early on, as you can offload items without running back to town.

Forager, in my opinion, is arguably the best specialization for pawns. You’re going to at least want one pawn with this in your party. This specialization highlights materials needed to upgrade your equipment. If you can’t see materials being highlighted for your equipment, that means you haven’t upgraded your gear at least once because your first upgrade on all gear only costs gold. This is very handy as it can prevent you from going outside the game to look up where to find upgrade materials.

The Aphonite specialization prevents your pawn from talking. If your pawn bothers you with their voice lines, or if you don’t like the amount of banter they have, you can use this specialization. You can use this if you’re getting annoyed by them, so that you won’t have to hear their bantering.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Quests and Quest Information

You can set quests for your pawn at any of the major riftstones that are usually found in major towns. You’re going to interact with the riftstone to set-up an objective and reward for your pawn. The reward could be an item, upgrade materials, or even getting an achievement. You can set this up as a trading system, so make sure you take advantage of this mechanic if you really need to obtain a specific item.

dd2-pawn-guide-reddit-riftstone

Another thing to talk about is quest objectives you’re trying to complete, and whether pawns have information about that quest. Pawns can gain information from being part of these quests in other worlds when they get summoned, learning about it. When you go to your quest menu, you’ll see a hand icon with a number. If the hand is blue, this means that your pawn has information. If it is orange with a number, 1 for example, it means that it’s the first hired pawn. When you equip a quest, this will change if certain pawns might not have information on the specific quest. You can use the “Go!” command on your pawn after you selected a quest, if they offer to help you in the quest. A downside is that they might try and run all the way towards the quest. If you have a vague idea on the quest’s location, you might want to use an oxcart instead of letting your pawn make you run all over the map.

dd2-information-useful

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Pawn Commands

There are four commands for your pawns. These commands are: Wait, Come To Me, Help, and Go. You’re going to use these commands both inside and outside of combat a lot. For instance, if you’re outside of combat, you can use the “Help!” command to make your mage pawn heal you, or if you want to get buffed. If your pawns are fighting something, or if they’re stuck on the other side of a ravine, you can use the “Come To Me!” command so that your pawn will teleport to you. The “Go!” command is for the quest information as I mentioned before. They can also lead you to chests that they have seen. Lastly, if you want for your pawn to not interact with what you’re doing, you can use the “Wait!” command. This is a useful command if you don’t want your pawn attacking the wrong person in a quest. I would recommend dismissing them in that case, as your pawn might get impatient and follow you anyway.

dragons-dogma-2-pawn-commands-explanation

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Pawn Romance

Affinity is a part of the romancing mechanism of Dragon’s Dogma 2. It can strengthen bonds and relationships between you and NPCs. This can also apply to pawns, as they can fall in love with you if you gain affinity with them. You can increase your affinity with your pawn by interacting with them. You can high-five them, go to hot springs, go to the barber, and other things. Going to the barber would give you the most affinity, but you probably won’t be doing that all the time. These actions have a 10-minute cooldown, so you can do this repeatedly until you gain enough affinity with them. You will lose affinity with your pawn if they die. Once you have a high enough affinity with your pawn, they’ll fall in love with you. This has an effect in the ending of the game, although not that big of an effect.

dd2-pawn-affinity-increase-fast

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Pawn Scars

Your pawn will gain scars over time as they die. Whether in combat, or they fall in the water or off a cliff, for any instance that they die. You might not want the look of those scars on your pawn. You can actually remove these scars by going to the hot springs in Geyser Hamlet over at Volcanic Island Camp. There will be an entrance fee of 100G. When you use it, your pawn’s scars will be cleared while also healing everyone in your party.

dd2-hot-spring-location

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Dragonsplague

Something to look out for in your pawns is Dragonsplague. Dragonsplague is a disease they can get which has no noticeable effects when you’re hiring them in the rift. You’ll see this effect when they go to your own world. Your main pawn can also get it, since pawns can pass it around to each other. You can notice it if your pawn is behaving weirdly after resting at an inn.

If one of your pawns have Dragonsplague, their eyes will gradually change to a reddish-purple color over time. They’ll also start to act weirdly like having headaches, they won’t follow your commands, or misbehave. These are telltale signs that something is off with your pawns. If you have hired pawns that are acting weirdly, you can dismiss them. However, if it’s your main pawn, you can throw them into the water then re-hire them at a pawn riftstone to get rid of it. Otherwise, if you rest at an inn and Dragonsplague has progressed far enough, it will massacre everyone in the area.

You should be on the lookout for these symptoms, as it’s not immediately obvious. If you see something fishy, you should dismiss those pawns or re-hire your main pawn.

dragonsdogma2-symptoms-dragonsplague

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Augments and Skills

The augments will vary based on your pawn’s vocation. In general, there are some great augments for pawns you should be on the lookout for. The first would be Provocation. If you have tanks such as warriors in your party, you’ll be wanting this augment on your pawn. Try to find a pawn that has this augment, or you can put this on your main pawn if that’s their role. Perpetuation is great on pawns, since buffs will last longer on them. Vitality isn’t a bad one, as having increased maximum health makes your pawn more difficult to kill. I really like Constancy on pawns, as having knockdown resistance is generally good. Mettle and Apotropaism can be good as they’ll increase either the physical or magick defense of your pawn. If you’re trying to keep your pawns alive, these augments will be good.

dd2-knockdown-resistance-importance-tips

As for skills, you can slot up to four skills on your pawn. They’ll try to use all of the skills you have slotted on them, and the effectiveness of these skills will vary based on their vocation. Keep in mind how your pawn is going to behave in combat, so you can see and adjust what they’re doing. For example, I have four buff spells on my mage pawn which they’ll cycle through regularly. Sometimes, it won’t be great as they’ll heal when they don’t need to, or they’ll buff me when I need healing. It’s not always going to be perfect, but you can reduce this by reducing the total number of skills they have. For example, you can slot only two powerful spells such as Meteoron and Maelstrom on your sorcerer. They can melt down tough enemies with this, but they’re less effective at regular combat. You should also factor in the Maister skills, as they will completely drain your character’s stamina when they use those skills. You’re going to decide if the trade-offs for having certain spells on your pawn will be worth having.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawn Guide – Final Thoughts

I hope you have learned something from this in-depth guide, even if you know some of this already. There’s a lot of information out there on pawns, and we’re all learning new things about them. I wanted to wait until I have aggregated and tested a lot of information on pawns so that there are less speculations and more factual information. There’s more information out there regarding pawns in which we don’t know yet, so we should be on the lookout for those.

The post Dragon’s Dogma 2 Best Warfarer Build For Combat And Exploration appeared first on Fextralife.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Warfarer Build Guide, we’ll be talking about the best warfarer build for combat and exploration. This is my go-to build for exploring out on the landscape. It allows a good mix of exploration and combat, and it’s really strong. I’ll be discussing the skills, equipment, augments, and main pawn set-up to have an easier time following this build. This article will contain everything you need to know about my warfarer set-up.

Warfarer in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The warfarer is a new advanced vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Compared to other vocations, the warfarer has lower stats, which is sacrificed for the flexibility that this vocation allows players to have. This is a unique vocation as it offers a lot of versatility and adaptability to many different combat scenarios. You can switch your weapons to adjust to the situation, which makes playing warfarer a vocation for those that are willing to experiment with all the weapons and combinations available.

Endgame Warfarer Build Skills

dd2-warfarer-maister-skills

Rearmament

We’ll be using rearmament so that we could swap between the magic bow and either a sorcerer, or a mage staff depending on how you want to set your warfarer up.

dragonsdogma2-archer-best-skills

Sagittate Avalanche (Magick Archer)

This allows you to charge up a shot that shoots a lot of attacks in a row. Sagittate Avalanche significantly does more damage than a regular attack. Our set-up is built around the knockdown power, and this skill does a lot of it. Magick archers aren’t know for their knockdown power, so don’t sleep on this skill as a warfarer.

dd2-warfarer-ricochet-magick

Ricochet Hunter (Magick Archer)

We’ll be using this skill as it is a strong cave clearer. Any time you explore a cave or tight spaces, you should be charging this up to full and firing it blindly to clear the space quickly. If you aren’t using this as a magick archer, you’re wasting half the potential of a magick archer, so make sure you have this skill. This’ll clear a cave in such a short time, which makes exploration easier for you.

dragonsdogma2-sorcerer-build-guide

Augural Flare (Sorcerer)

If you want to deal max damage out of this build, which you don’t necessarily need, you can use Augural Flare by using a sorcerer staff. Ideally, you want to use this to target weak points of enemies, then switch to your magick bow to charge up Sagittate Avalanche towards the weak point you targeted with Augural Flare.

dragonsdogma2-warfarer-combination

Celerity (Mage)

You can use Celerity instead of Augural Flare to boost your speed. Celerity not only boosts your movement speed, which is great for exploration, but it also boosts the charge speed of your skills. You’ll notice Sagittate Avalanche, or even your regular attack, charges more quickly compared to when you don’t have Celerity. You’ll be dealing damage quicker with this.

dd2-exploration-guide-map

Levitate

Another reason why I like using the mage or sorcerer vocation alongside magick archer is that I also have access to the skill Levitate. This is a skill which is good for exploration, as it allows you to explore anywhere in the game. Playing as a warfarer just gives you a lot of versatility, as you can be strong in combat while also getting to explore every inch of the map.

Warfarer Equipment

Use these weapons while approaching endgame

dd2-best-magick-bow

Militant Dove (Magickal Bow)

You can purchase this from Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor for 48,000G. You’ll be using Militant Dove as even though it has slightly less damage than Dragon’s Breath, it has more knockdown power. It has 35 more knockdown power than Dragon’s Breath, which is what we want to complement Sagittate Avalanche. For upgrading this, you’ll want to go Dwarven style to get more knockdown power.

dd2-sorcerer-archistaff

Anathema (Archistaff)

You’ll be using Anathema as its stats aren’t far off of Lion-Lord’s Archistaff, and you won’t be using an archistaff all the time. This is a cost-effective weapon to have as it doesn’t cost any gold to get. You can get this as a rare drop from a lich, or you can find it inside a chest in Dragonsbreath Tower. You want to upgrade this in Elven style to further increase the magick stat.

dragonsdogma2-guide-militant-dove

Lion-Lord’s Archistaff (Archistaff)

If you want to minmax your equipment going towards the endgame, you can get the Lion-Lord’s Archistaff instead. You can buy purchase this at Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor for 56,900G.

Endgame upgrades

dd2-blackwing-bow-vendor

Blackwing Bow (Magickal Bow)

You can purchase this from armory vendors when you get to the endgame for 65,000G.

dragonsdogma2-wrymslife-farming

Grianmhar (Magickal bow)

You can get this bow from the Bay Wayside Shrine for 110 wyrmslife crystal and 75,000G.

dragonsdogma2-ring-best

For rings, you can use Ring of Quickening to increase your stamina recovery speed by 10%. You can wear two of these if you want, but I want to pair it with the Ring of Triumph. Ring of Triumph gives additional health, stamina, and carry weight capacity. These are quality of life things, so it allows for an easier set-up. Rings that give additional damage aren’t really that useful in my opinion, as this set-up already has enough damage.

Augments

dd2-augment-warfarer-best-combo

Detection

Detection notifies you if there are Seeker’s Tokens or Wakestone Shards around you. You will eventually replace this once you have acquired all the Seeker’s Tokens.

dragons-dogma-2-ambuscade-archer

Ambuscade

This increases the damage you deal when the enemy isn’t in battle stance. You’ll be initiating a lot in combat, so this will give you a nice damage boost.

dd2-best-experience-farming

Endurance

This boosts your maximum stamina by 150. You’ll have more stamina inside and outside of combat, so this is a good all-around augment to have.

dragonsdogma2-list-wiki-augments

Lethality

Lethality increases the damage that you deal towards enemies’ weak points. You’ll be doing that a lot in this warfarer set-up, so this is an augment you should use.

mage-dd2-best-augment-help

Exaltation

Exaltation increases your stamina recovery speed by 10%. This is good both inside and outside of combat, so it’s good for the purpose of this build.

dd2-stamina-hacks-guide

Athleticism

You’ll be able to sprint longer with this as this augment reduces stamina consumed while sprinting.

Endgame Warfarer Build Main Pawn Set-up

The main pawn for your warfarer will be a mage. Mages are the best pawns for me personally, as they can play the support role really well. The skills I have on my mage are High Solemnity, High Celerity, Argent Succor, and High Halidom.

As for the weapon, my mage pawn uses Legion’s Might. This is a strong magick staff for a mage at this point of the game. Legion’s Might also allows your mage pawn to revive themselves when rendered immobile, so that’s nice to have on a pawn.

dd2-pawn-best-items
Legion’s Might

For the armor, we’ll be using the best ones we can find at this point of the game. For my pawn’s headgear, I’ll be using Twilight Star as this is the best-in-slot for a mage. For the body and legs, I have the Charming Corset equipped on my pawn. This takes up both the body and legs slot of armor, but it’s really good at this point.

dragonsdogma2-vocation-headgear
Twilight Star

Rings-wise, my pawn uses Ring of Articulacy and Ring of Quickening. One boosts the stamina recovery, and the other reduces the cast time of spells. I find that pawns don’t take advantage of the quick casting mechanic, so reducing the cast speed is good on a pawn.

best-ring-boost-dd2-dragons-dogma-2
Ring of Articulacy

Final Thoughts on the Warfarer Build

This warfarer build is an all-around build that’s good in both combat and exploration. Using this build has carried me through 50% or more of the game, so this is something I would highly recommend. If you want to have good damage in combat and good exploration potential, this build is definitely for you.

The post How To Have More Fun in Dragon’s Dogma 2 appeared first on Fextralife.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Guide, I’ll be giving more tips for you to have more fun playing Dragon’s Dogma 2. We’ll be talking about equipment weight, stamina management, and all the other things that can enhance your experience in playing through Dragon’s Dogma 2. I mentioned before that people are going to have a tough time figuring out and managing their inventory, weight, and stamina, which we’ll be addressing in this article. Make sure you also check out our DD2 Beginner Guide.

Essentials For An Adventure

Something you should always bring along with you is a Camping Kit. A camping kit can be used repeatedly, and it is extremely heavy so you should only bring one of these. I would recommend you store extra camping kits, as you will need more than one throughout the game. There will be a chance that you’ll get attacked while camping, so you might lose your camping kit and supplies. However, in my experience it is a very rare occurrence, so you can always grab another one if you do lose it. Also, since camping kits are heavy, make sure to store them on your pawns so you can have more inventory space to pick things up.

dragons-dogma-2-camping-guide
Elite Camping Kit

Also, you should bring ingredients so you can be able to cook while camping. Cooking can provide stat boosts to your attributes, and most importantly, stamina. Cooking meat makes it so that you will consume lesser stamina when you do actions that would cost you stamina.

dd2-cooking-animation-real

One thing I would recommend for you to carry around is a Dragon’s Gaze. This item allows you to locate Wakestone Shards as it will mark them around your vicinity in the map. You can get one as a quest reward for completing The Nameless Village, although there are other ways of getting it. However, if you are using the Detection augment, you won’t be needing this item as it basically does the same thing as Dragon’s Gaze.

dd2-item-wakestone-article
Dragon’s Gaze

For lantern oils, you’ll most likely be needing only one or two at a time. You’ll be back in town most likely before you can go through two lamp oils. Don’t bring more than that amount, so you won’t be adding excess weight to your character. You aren’t going to run out of oil regularly.

dragonsdogma2-night-exploration
Lantern Oil

Consumables

For consumables, make sure you have curatives. Personally, I like to have three or four just in case of emergency. These can be used if you need to heal yourself in a pinch. Generally speaking, you don’t want to bring a lot of curatives if you have a mage in your party. If you don’t have a mage, which you really should, you should consider bringing more than the normal amount you usually bring. Keep in mind that roborants are very light, so you can bring these instead of potions if you are conscious of your weight capacity.

dd2-heal-tips
Greenwarish

If you don’t have a mage in your party, a Detoxifying Decoction is a must in case you get blighted. Blight lasts for a long time, and having no way to remove it can be annoying to deal with. If you have no Detoxifying Decoction, you need to rest to get rid of the blight, so that is one potion I would recommend you having.

dd2-remove-poison-debilitation
Detoxifying Decoction

If you are playing as a mage, you should be carrying a Soothing Brew. Soothing Brew cures silence, a debilitation that prevents you from casting spells. Silence is one of the most annoying things that mages have to deal with, so it’s good to have a potion that removes it. If you’re playing as a sorcerer, you’ll most likely have a mage in your party which’ll help remove your silence.

dd2-silence-augment
Soothing Brew

Ferrystones and Wakestones

I would usually carry two or three Ferrystones, as that would be enough to get from point A to point B, and back again. I would also bring along two or three Wakestones in case an NPC dies when I’m doing a quest. You aren’t going to use a lot of these at a time, so it’s best to put them in storage instead of adding weight to your character.

Weapons and Armor

Don’t carry excess equipment in your inventory. If you have extra weapons, armors, and rings in your inventory, you should be putting it in your storage. Anything you don’t need, or you can’t currently equip, put it in your storage. If you feel like you want to swap your gear, you can do so by going to town and swapping there instead.

If you’re playing as an archer, you shouldn’t bring a lot of arrows of each type. Arrows have a weight in your inventory, so just bring the normal amount of arrows you typically use.

Inventory Management

There are various ways of increasing your carry weight. First, you can use the augment Thew which enables you to carry additional weight. You can unlock this by leveling your warrior to level six. Second, you can find Golden Trove Beetles all over the map. These beetles increase your carry weight by 0.15kg when you consume one. You can use the interactive map to find all the beetles around the map, or you can keep an eye out for them. Lastly, there are rings that increases your carry weight or equip load by a significant amount. For example, a Ring of Accrual will increase your maximum weight capacity by 5. You can do these things so you aren’t constantly heavy all the time.

dd2-beetle-weight-location-guide
Golden Trove Beetle

Another tip is to always mind your character’s weight. The heavier you are, the more stamina you’ll consume and the slower your stamina recovery will be. You don’t want to be heavy, so you should always manage your character’s inventory so you wouldn’t have this problem.

Whenever you go into town, you should be dumping your excess equipment, crafting materials, and anything you picked up into your storage. You should always do this before going out of town so that you’ll be as light as possible before leaving.

Tips For Stamina Management

There are a couple of ways you can increase your stamina so you don’t run out of it quickly when you go into combat or explore the landscape. You can equip rings that increase your maximum stamina, such as Ring of Momentum or Ring of Triumph. Leveling up also increases your stamina, so the higher your level is, the more stamina you have. Using the Endurance augment from the archer vocation will also increase your maximum stamina by 150. Increasing your stamina won’t make you deal more damage, but you will be more effective both inside and outside of combat.

Ring of Triumph

You can also improve your stamina recovery so that your stamina replenishes quicker. Equipping rings such as Ring of Quickening will help increase your stamina recovery speed by 10%. You can also use the Exaltation augment from the mage vocation, but you can only unlock it at level 9. The mage’s ultimate skill, Celesteal Paean, also increases your stamina recovery. If you’re playing as a mage, Celerity increases your action speed, which means you consume less stamina for distance covered while sprinting.

Ring of Quickening

Another tip for stamina management is to sheathe your weapon while sprinting when you’re not in combat. You consume more stamina when you sprint if you have your weapon out. It may not seem like it at first, but it is noticeable once you’ve seen the difference.

Augments for Stamina Management

You also use the Athleticism augment from the mystic spearhand vocation. This augment makes you consume 10% less stamina when sprinting. If you have stamina management issues, this is a good augment to have on your character.

Dynamism is an augment you can unlock once you reach level 9 in warfarer. It reduces the effect of your weight towards your movement speed. It will also reduce the strain of weight towards your stamina. It’s not something you can use immediately, so it’s a good goal to set your eyes on.

Weapon and Armor Upgrades

Upgrading your gear, except for the Dwarven style, will lighten the weight of the equipment you are upgrading. Wyrmfire smithing will reduce the equipment’s weight by half, while also greatly increasing the equipment’s power and efficacy. This is a great way to reduce your character’s weight, especially if you have a vocation using heavy equipment.

You can get the Wyrmfire style enhancement by going to Bay Wayside Shrine. You’ll be spending Wyrmslife Crystal to get the Wyrmfire upgrade for your equipment. You can farm the crystals by killing drakes you find throughout the game.

Portcrystals

As mentioned in the previous article, portcrystals are a good way of moving around the map without making exploration a chore. Make sure to put your portcrystals down in good locations and buy ferrystones regularly from vendors in town. You won’t run out of ferrystones if you regularly restock when you visit a town.

Fugacity

dd2-fugacity-alternatives-augment

Fugacity is an augment that reduces the chances of you getting attacked when using an oxcart or camping. This’ll make your experience playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 easier, as there’s nothing more annoying than getting interrupted by mobs while trying to get to an area using an oxcart. I would highly recommend using this augment for quality-of-life improvements, just to ease some of the frustrations this game can cause.

Dealing With Missing NPCs

You might have trouble finding NPCs you need to talk to to access quests, unlock maister skills, increase reputation. You might have encountered them in the game a few times, but they aren’t at the specified location in the game or in the wiki. You’ll get frustrated trying to fix it by doing anything and everything you can. What I would recommend for these situations is to go to the location where they should be, save your game, and load it. I don’t know why this works, but this seems to fix it most of the time. This has saved me from a lot of frustration trying to find NPCs, or even enemies you want to fight.

Final Thoughts

I can say that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is worth playing, as I always have fun whenever I play the game. I know there can be frustrating mechanics and bugs in the game, and these are the ways I have dealt with it. Hopefully, these tips can help you deal with the frustrating aspects of the game, as Dragon’s Dogma 2 really is a game where you’ll have a blast if you give it a chance.

The post Dragon’s Dogma 2 Best Armor For Each Vocation & Class appeared first on Fextralife.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Best Armor Guide, we’ll be talking about the best armor for each vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It is a tricky topic to discuss, so you’ll have to do a lot of research, comparison, and judgment calls on which armor would be best in your situation. This article will serve as a guideline for when you would want to spend gold on armor, instead of finding better armor immediately after buying one. We’ll be discussing which armor to get, how to get it, and all the information you’ll need to know about which armor is suitable for you in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Best Armor

Armor in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a type of equipment which provides defensive properties and protects the Arisen and their pawns against enemy attacks. Each vocation will have different pieces of armor to equip, so it will be unique to your chosen vocation. Each armor piece will specialize in which type of damage it will protect you from, and it can also give certain debilitation and elemental resistances. You can obtain armor in many ways, such as looting chests, getting it as a quest reward, buying it from NPCs, and obtaining it from monster drops.

In this article, the progression for armor will be divided into sections. There will be repeated armor slots, so it will be up to your preference in which armor you should be getting depending on which part of the game you are in currently.

However, it takes up both Legs and Chest Armor slots, so it’s really only better on lower Armor characters like Mages and Sorcerers.

Final Thoughts on Armor

Armor in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is really tricky. This article is mostly about information on which armor would be good for each vocation at different points of the game, but it will be up to you whether or not the difference in each armor’s stat would be worth the upgrade. Your character might need something different from what my character needs. Hopefully, this guide has provided you the information you would need in order to have a more informed decision on which armor you and your pawn should use.

That concludes our Dragon’s Dogma 2 Armor Progression Guide, and we have many others as well for you to check out. You can use the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Wiki as well if you have further questions.

The post Dragon’s Dogma 2 Best Weapons For Every Vocation appeared first on Fextralife.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Best Weapons Guide, we’ll be talking about some of the best early and mid-game weapons you could acquire. We’ll be talking about the weapons, upgrade path for each weapon type, and finding the weapons. This article will contain everything you need to know about using weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Best Weapons in Dragon’s Dogma 2

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, weapons are equipment that the Arisen uses to deal damage to enemies. These can be obtained in different ways, such as enemy drops, chests, merchants, and quest rewards. Each vocation will have a different weapon type to use, like a fighter using swords and maces as a weapon. The weapon your character wields will also determine which skills can be used by your character.

Bows

Darkening Storm

This bow can be found in a chest located west of Checkpoint Rest Town. This is a strong early-game bow that costs no money to obtain. You should upgrade this bow in the Vermundian style since you can upgrade it early on in the game. The Battahli style is stronger than the Vermundian style, but you’ll get a better bow once you can upgrade it to Battahli, so I don’t recommend waiting for this upgrade path.

Dragon’s Blink

You can buy this bow from the smithy in Bakbattahl. You can upgrade it Battahli style while you’re there, as that is the strongest type of upgrade for bows.

Revenant Wail

You can obtain this bow in Volcanic Island Camp armory, which is further down the map in the game. The damage between Dragon’s Blink and Revenant Wail is almost negligible, considering how long it will take to progress to when you can obtain this bow.

Daggers

Bolts from the Blue

In order to get these daggers, you’re going to Windworn Gully, northeast of Checkpoint Rest Town. You will find it inside a chest. This is a huge upgrade, as it is a powerful early game weapon and it costs no money. Since you’re going to use these for a while, you can upgrade it Vermundian style or Elven style. Vermundian style is better in general for daggers, as it increases physical damage more while Elven style increases magic damage.

Frosted Edges

You can find these daggers in the Coral Snakes’ Hideout. These daggers will hold up just fine until endgame, so make sure to upgrade these. I would recommend fully upgrading these daggers in the Elven style.

Staves

Cardinal Blaze

You can buy Cardinal Blaze in Sacred Arbor for 27,800G. You can upgrade this in the Elven style.

Tintreach

You can buy Tintreach in Sacred Arbor for 27,800G, same as Cardinal Blaze. You should be upgrading this in the Elven style, to maximize the magick gain from the upgrades.

Volant White

You can purchase this staff at the armory in Volcanic Island Camp. It costs 45,600G, but you’ll be able to buy this as you won’t be spending much gold before getting here. You can upgrade this and use it until you get to the endgame, or hold out for a better staff which we’ll talk about below.

Legion’s Might

You can obtain Legion’s Might by bringing a total of 180 Seeker’s Tokens to any Vocation Guild. It’s going to take a lot of time to obtain that amount of Seeker’s Token, so you’re going to be better off getting the Volant White instead for the meantime.

Swords & Maces

Silver Rapier

You’ll be able to find the Silver Rapier in a chest in the Pawn Guild Tower over in Vernworth. You won’t be spending any money on it, so you should get it immediately. I would recommend you upgrade this in the Vermundian style, as it will take quite a while before you buy another weapon or use another upgrade style.

Silver Cinquedea

You can buy this from the smithy in Bakbattahl for 39,200G. You should upgrade this a bit, as it will take quite some time before you get another upgrade.

The Exalted

If you don’t want to spend on upgrades for the Silver Cinquedea, you can directly head towards Drabnir’s Grotto to find The Exalted.

Molten Fury

This mace can be found in a chest inside Mountain Base Cave, which is close to where you found The Exalted. You can upgrade this or The Exalted, as these can be enough to use until you reach the endgame.

Shields

Daughter of the Evening

This shield is inside the Vernworth Castle vault. To get inside the vault, you need to distract the guard, which can be easier by throwing a barrel at her and hiding her someplace. This shield has the third highest knockdown power, with the top 2 being in the endgame. You should upgrade this as soon as you can, so Vermundian style would be the way to go.

Dragon’s Faith

You can obtain this by going to Dragonsbreath Tower. This will be the strongest shield you can use up until the endgame. I would highly recommend upgrading this in Dwarven style.

Archistaves

Meniscus

You can buy Meniscus over at Vernworth for 9,600G. There won’t be any good archistaves at the start of the game, so you can upgrade this for a bit. The best upgrade style will be the Elven for archistaves.

Plucked Heart

Plucked Heart can be purchased at the smithy in Checkpoint Rest Town for 24,500G.

Talarian White

Talarian White can be purchased in Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor for 28,000G. You can use this archistaff until you have enough gold to get Lion-Lord’s Archistaff from the same place.

Lion-Lord’s Archistaff

You can purchase this archistaff from Grisha’s Armory in Sacred Arbor for 56,900G. This will be the best archistaff you’ll get until you reach the endgame.

Greatswords & Hammers

Flamberge

You can buy the Flamberge over at the smithy at Checkpoint Rest Town for 24,800G. It’s a decent weapon right as you start. You can upgrade this in the Vermundian style early on to get extra damage, as you will have no access to Battahli or Dwarven style.

Black Matter

You can obtain Black Matter inside a chest in Ancient Battleground. It’s not far off of Checkpoint Rest Town, so you can obtain it fast early on in the game. It has similar stats to the Flamberge. It’s also free, so you can save up on money and get this instead of the Flamberge.

Cyclopean Thunder

You can go to the Dark Beast Den, which is close to Bakbattahl, to obtain the Cyclopean Thunder. It has lightning properties on it, so you can stun enemies with it. You’ll be using it for a while, so you can upgrade this in the Battahli or Dwarven style. Dwarven style would be the best for hammers and greatswords, so you can hold out on the upgrades if you want to until you unlock the Dwarven style.

Cinderspine

The Cinderspine can be found inside a chest in Mountain Base Cave. This is close to the Volcanic Island Camp. This hammer is a bit better than the Cyclopean Thunder. You’ll have the Dwarven style unlocked by that point, so you should be upgrading it in that style.

Duospears

Dead Ringer

You’ll be able to obtain this by defeating the lesser dragon during the Melve attack. This will be the best duospear you’ll get at the beginning of the game, so this what you’re going to use until you reach the endgame.

If you missed getting this weapon, you can go to Dragonsbreath Tower at some point in the game to defeat a dragon. You can also buy this at the Volcanic Island Armory for 56,000G if you have no luck in getting this as a drop.

Infernal Edge

This is obtainable by going to the Ancient Battleground by opening a chest behind a locked door. You can access the chest by finishing the quest Toiled to Rest to receive the Ancient Battleground Key from Oskar. If you missed getting the Dead Ringer at the beginning, you’ll be using this duospear until you get to Bakbattahl.

Wings Asunder

Wings Asunder is purchasable at Arawan’s Arms in Bakbattahl for 32,000G.

Magickal Bows

Metered Catharsis

Metered Catharsis can be found by looting a chest in the Echoing Depths.

Dragon’s Breath

Dragon’s Breath can be bought in the Volcanic Island Armory over at Volcanic Island Camp for 55,900G. This will be the best magickal bow you’ll use up until you reach the endgame. You should be upgrading this in the Elven style to get the most magick upgrade out of it.

Censer

Whimsical Daydream

Whimsical Daydream can be obtained by finishing the Sphinx quest A Game Of Wits. This weapon can take you until you get into the endgame, so I wouldn’t recommend spending gold for any other censer. You should be upgrading this Elven style, as magick will increase your simulacrum’s health. You can also go for Battahli style, as this will increase your threat generation.

Final Thoughts on Weapons

These weapons listed are weapons that could potentially be used right until you reach the endgame. These can be used as boosts, or if you want to progress through the game optimally. The upgrades will still be based on how comfortable you are with the weapon, or what your character would need, what your preferences are. Hopefully, this guide will give you ideas on which weapons you want to use.

The post Best Rings For Each Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2 appeared first on Fextralife.

In this article, we’ll be talking about which rings you should be equipping per vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. We’ll be talking about each vocation, what rings you’re going to be on the lookout for, and how to find them. Everything you’ll need to know about the best rings will be discussed here.

Rings in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Rings in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are accessories that are equippable by the Arisen. These rings provide boosts and special effects, from boosting Strength, to increasing Magick Defense. Any vocation can equip a ring. These boosts and special effects will greatly help your character in progressing, so you should always be on the lookout for rings that will be beneficial for your character.

Fighter

Ring of Tenacity

Ring of Tenacity increases your maximum stamina by 90. It can be bought at Celeste’s Smithy in Checkpoint Rest Town for 3,000G. This is good for a fighter early on, as you can block or attack more. This is helpful as fighters struggle with stamina management.

Ring of Triumph

Ring of Triumph increases your maximum health and stamina by 100, while also increasing carry weight capacity by 5. This can be obtained by turning in 15 Seeker’s Tokens to a Vocation Guild, with Vernworth being the closest at this point in the game.

Ring of Grit

Ring of Grit reduces stamina cost of blocking with a shield by 25%. This can be found on an altar in Worldsend Cavern. This is very useful for a fighter, as fighters have stamina management due to blocking a lot of attacks.

Ring of Momentum

Ring of Momentum increases your maximum stamina by 150. You can find this inside a chest in Thunderclap Cave. You can eventually replace Ring of Tenacity with this ring.

Ring of Quickening

Ring of Quickening increases stamina recovery speed by 10%. You can buy this in Volcanic Island Armory in Volcanic Island Camp for 10,000G. You can obtain a second one by buying it from Gautstafr once you finish Put a Spring in Thy Step.

Mage

Ring of Tenacity

Ring of Tenacity is good for mages early on, as they consume a lot of stamina during spellcasting.

Ring of Momentum

You should replace Ring of Tenacity with this as soon as you get this. This gives you more stamina for casting.

Ring of Articulacy

Ring of Articulacy reduces time taken to incant spells by 15%. You can buy this from Grisha’s Armory over at Sacred Arbor.

Ring of Recitation

Ring of Recitation reduces time taken to incant spells by 25%, but it reduces your maximum health by 20. This can be found inside a chest in Tomb of Ja’Nuwa. With the trade-off of having reduced maximum health, you can use this if you’re good at positioning or if you feel comfortable with having lesser health.

Ring of Quickening

As mentioned above, you can buy this in Volcanic Island Armory. This is good for mages as having stamina recovery speed is really valuable for mages. I’d recommend using at least one Ring of Quickening instead of stacking increased cast speed rings.

Archer

Ring of Proximity

Ring of Proximity boosts bow attacks the closer you are to the enemy, by around 10% to 20%. This can be found inside a chest northwest of Vernworth.

Ring of Skullduggery

Ring of Skullduggery increases damage of your attacks behind an enemy by 20%. To obtain the Ring of Skullduggery, you have to finish the quest Hunt for the Jadeite Orb. There will be certain conditions that have to be met in the quest to get this ring.

Thief

Ring of Tenacity

As mentioned above, you can get this at Celeste’s Smithy in Checkpoint Rest Town. A thief will need all the stamina they can get, so this is a good ring to have early on in the game.

Ring of Momentum

You can get this in a chest inside Thunderclap Cave. The same idea with Ring of Tenacity also applies here, as thieves need stamina.

Ring of Skullduggery

Ring of Skullduggery is a great ring to equip on thieves, as you’ll be backstabbing a lot. As stated earlier, you can obtain this by doing the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest.

Ring of Triumph

If you’re a thief, extra health alongside extra stamina will be great. This ring provides both of that, along with 5kg added carry weight capacity.

Ring of Quickening

Having a 10% increased stamina recovery speed as a thief will always be a welcome addition. As stated earlier, you can buy this in Volcanic Island Armory.

Sorcerer

Ring of Tenacity

Having Ring of Tenacity early on for sorcerers will be good, as they consume a lot of stamina during spellcasting.

Ring of Momentum

You should replace Ring of Tenacity with this as soon as you get this. This gives you more stamina for casting.

Ring of Articulacy

Ring of Articulacy reduces time taken to incant spells by 15%. As stated above, you can buy this from Grisha’s Armory over at Sacred Arbor.

Ring of Recitation

Ring of Recitation reduces time taken to incant spells by 25%, but it reduces your maximum health by 20. This can be found inside a chest in Tomb of Ja’Nuwa. You can also get a duplicate from doing the quest A Game of Wits. As a sorcerer, you can stack these effects multiplicatively, as you’ll have access to Galvanize to replenish your stamina.

Warrior

Ring of Tenacity

This is a ring that will be good to use early on for warriors, as you’ll need stamina to be able to tank enemy hits.

Ring of Momentum

You can upgrade to this ring from Ring of Tenacity as soon as you get this.

Ring of Vehemence

Ring of Vehemence increases your knockdown power by 100. You can get this early on by turning in 5 Seeker’s Tokens in any vocation guild, with Vernworth being the closest. You can also purchase this at Volcanic Island Armory for 10,000G. As a warrior, knocking down enemies will be part of what you do, so this is a good ring to have.

Mystic Spearhand

Ring of Tenacity

As stated above, Ring of Tenacity provides a maximum stamina boost. You can get this early on in the game, so this’ll be beneficial to use as a mystic spearhand.

Ring of Momentum

This is a big upgrade from Ring of Tenacity, so you should be using this as soon as you get it.

Ring of Skullduggery

Ring of Skullduggery will be good on mystic spearhands, as you tend to hit enemies rapidly from behind.

Magick Archer

Ring of Proximity

As with archers, this is a ring you could have equipped for your magick archer. This increases the damage you deal to enemies the closer you are to them.

Ring of Skullduggery

You’ll have easier access to an enemy’s back as a magick archer, so the damage you deal will be amplified by the Ring of Skullduggery.

Ring of Quickening

If you prefer to have 10% increased stamina recovery, you should be using this ring. However, as a magick archer, you won’t be really encountering any stamina management issues.

Trickster

Ring of Triumph

This is a good ring to use for a trickster, mainly for its maximum stamina increase.

Ring of Momentum

You’ll be needing stamina as a trickster, as you’ll mostly be running around the battlefield. Having this ring equipped will be a good choice, as this increases your maximum stamina by 150.

Ring of Quickening

As you run around the battlefield as a trickster, it’ll be good to have a ring that boosts your stamina recovery speed. Ring of Quickening helps with that, as it increases it by 10%.

Ring of Percipience

This ring increases your magick by 30. You can find this inside in chests near Vernworth or Checkpoint Rest Town. This increases your simulacrum’s health, allowing them to take more hits before dying.

Final Thoughts on Rings

Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of great rings in Dragon’s Dogma 2 as each vocation would have similar rings. Most of the rings you’ll want to have a duplicate of will be obtained via the Sphynx quest. Hopefully, this guide will help you get an idea on what your vocation’s needs are and also know which rings are the best in your situation.

That concludes our article for Dragon’s Dogma 2 best rings for each vocation, and we have many others as well for you to check out. You can use the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Wiki as well if you have further questions.

The post Ranking All Of Dragon’s Dogma 2 Vocations & Classes appeared first on Fextralife.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 All Vocations Ranked Guide, I’ll be ranking all 10 vocations from worst to best. I’ll be talking about the qualities of each vocation, their playstyle, listing down their best and worst unique characteristics which justifies their ranking. There are 4 basic vocations and 6 advanced vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and we’ll be talking about each of them. If you’re looking for what vocation will fit your playstyle or what vocation is the strongest, I’ll be discussing it here.

All Vocations Ranked in Dragon’s Dogma 2

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll start off by choosing one of the four basic vocations for your character. These vocations are: Fighter, Archer, Mage, and Thief. These vocations have a straightforward approach with their mechanics. Their respective roles are pretty much what their vocations are named after.

As you progress through the game, you’ll be unlocking advanced vocations that branch out from your basic vocations. There are a total of six advanced vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and these vocations are: Mystic Spearhand, Magick Archer, Sorcerer, Trickster, Warrior, and Warfarer. These vocations’ mechanics are much more complex than the starting four vocations. They all have specialized roles in which they excel, so playing these vocations well will give you a big advantage.

#10 – Warfarer

The warfarer has great utility. There are a lot of skill combinations in the game that could work well together, and the warfarer offers that. The warfarer allows you to combine skills from different classes. Playing as a warfarer also allows you to use any armor in the game, so you could essentially be a mage that has heavy armor equipped. There’s going to be plenty of ways to play as a warfarer, so that in itself is a unique characteristic of playing as a warfarer.

However, there’s a few reasons why it is at the bottom of the list. First off, you only have three skills you can use. The fourth skill slot will be taken up by Rearmament. This means you can only use on skill for three different weapons, or two skills for one weapon and another skill for the other. There’s also not much synergy between vocations which you could take advantage of. You cannot use any of the Meister skills, some of the best skills in the game. Even if you have extreme flexibility as a warfarer, you aren’t going to have the strengths of other vocations.

#9 – Fighter

The fighter is a staple class of the game. They deal a decent amount of damage to enemies, draw aggro, block different types of attacks. They also have ways of getting out of flinches to quickly get back into combat. This vocation has a straightforward approach to combat, so it can be easy to learn.

The downside of a fighter is that it has a difficult time with managing stamina compared to other vocations. If you’re new to the game, blocking everything, you’re going to run out of stamina and become vulnerable. You’re going to get killed a lot as a new fighter. You’ll have a skill that dodges and attacks at the same time, but you can’t dodge roll an attack. It can be difficult to learn how to play as a fighter effectively, even if its mechanics are pretty simple to understand.

When it comes to tanking, other vocations will be more effective than the fighter. A warrior or a trickster are both more effective at tanking than a fighter. They don’t run into the same stamina management problem as a fighter would do, so they don’t end up as a liability to their party.

#8 – Trickster

Trickster, in my opinion, is the best tank in the game. Playing as a trickster, you won’t have any trouble getting an enemy’s aggro as you have a simulacrum to do that. You can drag your simulacrum around and make enemies chase you, which prevents your entire party (and yourself) from getting damaged. You don’t have to worry about damage mitigation because you’re almost never taking damage. If you play this vocation well, this vocation has a very high survivability. A trickster can also provide boosts to their party, so it offers more than just tanking.

However, this class has zero damage. None of the trickster’s skills deal any damage, and a lot of its skills are extremely situational. Delusory Screen and Fickle Floor, for example, are very situational skills you won’t be using often. Playing a trickster would basically be summoning your simulacrum and dragging it around while you buff your party. It’s very effective, but it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

#7 – Archer

Archers have it very easy with stamina management, as they can use Steady Shot which doesn’t consume any stamina. They can also take advantage of enemies that have large weak spots by targeting it, where it could be difficult for other vocations. Pawns also tend to play really well as an archer, as they can get a lot of damage out if they’re set-up correctly.

Archers, however, have ineffective damage against some enemies that have harder exteriors. Some of the archer’s skills are also hard to use. If you’re using your skills in Steady Shot, the timing on them can be challenging even when you know what to do. You’ll also have to keep your aim on a moving target while you’re firing off on them. Even if archers are very effective, they’re not as easy to use compared to other vocations.

#6 – Warrior

Warriors deal a good amount of damage. They use big, heavy, methodical swings to attack. These attacks will knock enemies down, or knock them backward into objects, which deals more damage to them. When you knock enemies down, they’re vulnerable for you to deal a lot of damage. Warriors are also very tanky and can draw enemy aggro. Compared to fighters, warriors have a much easier time to do what their role in the party is. Warriors can just use the charge stance to tank, while fighters can get guard broken easily. A warrior can do everything a fighter can do, but better.

The downside to playing a warrior is that they feel very clunky and slow, with movement and attacks. It’s not going to be a vocation for everyone, as not everyone would want to play that slowly. It takes time to get used to playing as a warrior, as it is a vocation that requires high skill and execution to use.

#5 – Sorcerer

The sorcerer is a vocation that is fantastic at dealing damage. They’ll have the elements needed for most situations. A sorcerer also has very high damaging spells, and good stamina management. You can use Galvanize for your stamina, a skill that only a sorcerer can do. A lot of the sorcerer’s spells are very strong, wiping the screen off of enemies, at the cost of consuming a lot of stamina. Also, having sorcerers as pawns is nice as they can crank out damage.

A sorcerer’s downside is the cast time of their spells. It can take very long to cast a spell. Some of them can take particularly long, like Meister spells. Playing as a sorcerer will be casting a spell or two, then using Galvanize. You’ll also get frustrated if you get interrupted while casting a spell. You’ll basically be standing 95% of the time and managing your stamina can become a chore.

#4 – Mystic Spearhand

Playing as a Mystic Spearhand is a very fun experience, as I really enjoy this vocation. This class has a high skill floor and skill ceiling, so it can take some time to get used to this class. When you do get the hang of it, it’s going to take a lot more time for you to master it. But once you get to become adept at this vocation, it’s going to be very strong.

The Mystic Spearhand has great crowd control. They can immobilize, freeze, or slow down enemies, teleport to them, and repeat. Mystic Spearhands have fantastic mobility. They can slide over or jump up onto enemies very easily. They also have good survivability with Mirour Shelde, which can also be casted on the party.

This vocation has very few downsides. It cannot be used on pawns, and it takes a while to get the hang of this vocation. You’re not going to be good at this vocation when you first start playing it, and you’ll have to play a significant amount of time before you can master it.

#3 – Thief

I absolutely love playing as a thief in this game. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this vocation as much as I did, so I would recommend you play this one. Also, the animations for this vocation are sick.

Thieves have a lot of great things about them. They have great mobility, fast in combat, pin targets down to deal damage, which is pretty fun. As a thief, you also have the option to use stealth. Thieves deal very high amounts of damage as a melee vocation, probably higher than any other melee vocation in the game. They can also sidestep a lot of attacks, which makes them have good survivability. Thieves also have a skill that allows them to be unhittable while active. You can also climb or mount monsters to deal more damage. When you play as a thief, you’ll have plenty of tools to use, which is fun on its own.

Now, the downsides of this vocation. Pawns don’t play this vocation as well as you will. It’s a vocation that’s supposed to be played quickly, and the pawn AI doesn’t have the capacity to play it effectively. Another thing is that the skills of the thief vocation will take a bit of time to get used to. Not all of them are easy to understand, and this vocation has more mechanics to utilize compared to other vocations.

#2 – Magick Archer

Magick Archers have really high damage, and it is not hard to understand how to play it once you try it out for a bit. They also have good stamina management because if you play it, you’re going to be using a lot of your basic attacks with it just like you would with an archer. As Magick Archers are a hybrid of DPS and healer, you can also heal and revive your allies from a safe distance. You can support your party while also dealing huge amounts of damage to enemies. You also have access to the skill Martyr’s Bolt, arguably one of the deadliest Meister skills.

A downside of this class is that you can’t use it on pawns. You also cannot remove status ailments as a healer, which becomes more of a thing as you progress throughout the game. That’s a really big downside as a healer, as you cannot completely remove a mage in your party.

This might as well be my favorite vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, so I would highly recommend you to try it out.

#1 – Mage

Mages are pound-for-pound the best vocation in this game, as every party needs a mage. They have all the tools that any party would need. They can heal at will with Anodyne, use Argent Succor which heals you back to complete health, and Halidom removes status ailments. Mages can also buff your party, mitigate damage, and improve everyone’s speed. They can also utilize damage-dealing spells to enemies to contribute and give more options with damage, making fights easier to deal with.

You can also make a pawn a mage, which is important, as some players might not want to play as a support. Being able to have a mage as a pawn, or a main pawn, could offer you options to play as any vocation or role that you would want. Overall, and arguably, this vocation is the best in the game.

Final Thoughts on Vocation Ranking

These vocations all have different strengths and weaknesses. Choosing which vocation you’ll play through can be chosen based on your playstyle, the vocation’s role, or even its coolness factor. You can always experiment which one you’ll prefer and stick with in the end. This ranking is based on how effective the characters are, and how enjoyable they are to play in my opinion.

That concludes our Vocation Ranking for Dragon’s Dogma 2, and we have many others as well for you to check out. You can use the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Wiki as well if you have further questions.

The post Best Augments For Each Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2 appeared first on Fextralife.

In this article, we’ll be talking about which augments are good, and which one is best to use per vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2. We’re going to be talking about what the augments are, what it does, and what value its values are. Some augments you think that are good might be bad, or it could also go the other way around. This article will contain all the information you would need to decide on which augments to use in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Augments in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Augments are passive skills in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which you unlock as you level up a vocation. Once you unlock the augments, it will be unlocked to use for all vocations. A character can have a total of seven augments equipped, so you can see which ones will work better together, depending on your playstyle. You can access the different augments to enable or disable them by going to Vernworth Vocation Guild.

Augments have different effects on the player. It could increase stats, reduce knockdown time, increase healing potency, or boost certain action speeds or mechanics based on a character’s vocation.

Fighter

Mettle

Mettle augments your physical defense by approximately 30%. This is extremely good, as people might underestimate how much damage this augment mitigates. I would recommend this for any character that needs even a little bit of extra defense.

Provocation

Provocation increases the likelihood of being targeted by enemies. This augment increases the likelihood by double, although we don’t know the specific number in the first place. If you’re playing a tank role in your party, this will be beneficial for you.

Thew

Thew increases your max encumbrance by 10kg. 10kg might be good at the start of the game, but you’ll be progressing through the game and see that it won’t be enough to use an augment slot on.

Dominion

Dominion allows you to lift up and pin down enemies for an extended duration. I haven’t noticed a change in duration during testing, at least on picking up. This isn’t /that/ useful for most vocations.

Diligence

Diligence hastens your recovery time when downed or crawling. As with Dominion, I haven’t noticed any difference when I tested it. I wouldn’t recommend this augment until we get more information on this.

Archer

Ambuscade

Ambuscade increases damage enemies take by 10% when they are not in battle stance. It’s beneficial to use for any ranged vocation if you want to pick off enemies from far away.

Endurance

Endurance increases your maximum stamina by 150. The amount of stamina you receive isn’t bad, so you could use this augment if you don’t know which one to use at first.

Radiance

Radiance causes your lanterns to consume less oil and illuminate a wider area. Your lantern consumes ⅔ less oil than it does normally, while also illuminating twice as big than without the augment. This is a good augment for exploring, especially at night time.

Lethality

Lethality increases damage dealt to vitals by 5%. The amount isn’t big enough, but it’s good to be used by vocations which can attack weak spots easily like an archer or a magick archer. It’s not a bad augment to use, but there are better ones out there.

Avidity

Avidity increases your climb speed by 10%. It’s not a lot, as you’re not really going to feel a difference while climbing. If you love climbing, this will be great for you. If not, it’s not going to be worth it.

Mage

Apotropaism

Apotropaism augments your magick defense by 30%, similar to the Mettle for physical defense. This gives off a lot of protection, so this is worth using.

Beatitude

This increases the curative effect of consumables and spells by 10%. This is pretty good if you have a mage as your pawn, so this is good to equip on them. If you’re a magick archer and you’re planning to heal your party, this can also be a good choice.

Intervention

Intervention reduces the duration of debilitations you are afflicted with to 70%. Since mages and consumables can remove debilitations instantly, this augment isn’t really that great.

Perpetuation

Perpetuation increases the duration of enchantments and invigorations by 20%. This is excellent if you’re using a mage, so I’d recommend using it.

Exaltation

Exaltation increases your stamina recovery speed by 10%. It’s pretty good on all characters, as it can stack with rings that also give stamina recovery.

Thief

Subtlety

Subtlety decreases the likelihood of getting attacked by enemies by about 15%. It’s not a lot, but if your tank has the Provocation augment while you have Subtlety, it’s very unlikely for you to get targeted by enemies.

Gratification

Gratification, when equipped, restores 4% of your max health when dealing a killing blow to an enemy. It doesn’t have to be a hostile enemy, as it can even be animals in the landscape. The higher you max health is, the greater the heal is. Majority of your heals will come from your party, so it won’t be as useful as you think.

Poise

Poise reduces the stamina consumption when struggling in a foe’s grip by 20%. This isn’t that great, as you shouldn’t aim on getting grabbed by the enemy. Even when you do, you’re going to be in a bad situation where you won’t be thinking of your stamina.

Vigor

Vigor reduces stamina when clinging to an enemy or pinning them down by 15%. You’ll only probably use this if you’re a thief, as you’ll be the only one to be doing these things.

Verve

Verve augments your strength by 30. For a vocation rank 9 augment, this is pretty bad. You’ll most likely have 1,000 or so strength on a vocation that would need it, so 30 is an insignificant amount.

Warrior

Vitality

Vitality increases your maximum health by 200. This is a decent amount of health to have, so if you don’t know which augment to use, this is not bad. Adding this to your pawn would be great, too.

Impact

Impact improves your ability to push and pull targets when grabbing hold. I’m not sure how useful it is in general, but you won’t be needing this in any way.

Pertinacity

Pertinacity improves your ability to break through an opponent’s guard. I don’t know how much this increases, or how valuable it is as there’s not a lot of enemies that are blocking. It’s not very useful, as it is a very situational augment.

Dominance

Dominance augments your knockdown power by 15%. It’s a significant amount of knockdown power, particularly on classes that focus on knocking down enemies. Since this is a percentage-based increase, it’s more relevant as you progress in the game. I would highly recommend this one on warriors.

Intrepidity

Intrepidity reduces cumulation of the loss gauge when receiving damage by 5%. It’s pretty nice to use for warriors, as warriors take a lot of damage and tank through hits. For other vocations, I don’t think you’ll be needing it.

Sorcerer

Asperity

Asperity increases chances of inflicting debilitation with your attacks by 20%. If you like applying debilitations, or if your vocation applies a lot of those, you should probably use this.

Stasis

Stasis reduces the rate at which items deteriorate by 25%. This is not something you would need in any vocation, as you should be planning item usage ahead of time.

Constancy

Constancy increases your knockdown resistance by 30%. This can be huge for those vocations that are in the middle of the fight, as they constantly deal with knockdowns.

Catalysis

Catalysis increases the damage dealt when exploiting a target’s elemental weakness by 5%. If you’re playing spellcasters or if your weapons are buffed with certain elemental damage types. It’s not a decent amount, but it’s one you can use.

Sagacity

Sagacity increases your Magick by 30. It’s pretty good early on, but not as significant as when you do get it. The only time you want to use this is if you want to be a glass cannon and sacrifice better augments.

Mystic Spearhand

Conveyance

Conveyance hastens movement speed while carrying or lifting by 10%. It’s not a lot and you’re not going to do a lot of carrying or lifting so I wouldn’t be recommending this one.

Opulence

Opulence increases gold obtained when acquiring gold pouches by 5%. It’s not a significant amount of gold, and you’re not going to have gold problems in this game, so it’s not an augment I would recommend you to use.

Polarity

Polarity increases your strength during the day and magick at night by 5%. It’s not a ton, and you’re not traveling at night most of the time so you’re going to be getting the strength boost. Getting a boost that isn’t a flat number is good, but it’s not great enough to get this as an augment.

Refulgence

Refulgence increases the amount of rift crystals obtained when acquiring rift fragments and the like by 5%. You shouldn’t waste a slot on this, as you will be getting plenty of those as you progress through the game.

Athleticism

Athleticism reduces stamina consumed while dashing by 10%. It’s really good as a quality-of-life augment, as you’ll be sprinting a lot in this game.

Magick Archer

Sustainment

Sustainment increases the physical and magick defense of your pawns by 30. It’s not a small number, although you can get higher numbers. It’s not bad, so this augment is worth considering if you don’t have an augment you want to use.

Voracity

Voracity recovers 10% of your maximum stamina when you deliver a killing blow to an enemy. This isn’t bad if you’re playing a thief, as you can keep recovering your stamina as you kill enemies in quick succession.

Prolificity

Prolificity increases the likelihood that smaller targets will drop items by 20%. The base chance per enemy is unknown, although this isn’t bad. You can just kill more enemies to offset the increased chances, so I wouldn’t recommend wasting an augment slot for this.

Ascendancy

This increases the strength and magick of pawns by 30. It’s not bad, but it’s not amazing. If your pawns are doing fine in combat, this isn’t something you should be using for them.

Amelioration

Amelioration reduces the revive time of pawns by 1 second. This is quite good, as pawn revival takes around 3 seconds, so you’re shaving off 33% of the time. This one is worth considering, as it can make fights easier.

Trickster

Detection

Detection alerts you if there are nearby Seeker’s Tokens or Wakestone shards in the vicinity. This is invaluable if you’re a completionist and an explorer.

Enlightenment

Enlightenment gives you a chance to craft an additional product when combining materials by 15%. You can use it before crafting  and take it off right after so you won’t be wasting an augment slot.

Fugacity

Fugacity decreases the likelihood of being beset by hostels while camping or riding in an oxcart by 65%. This is more of an augment for quality of life, as you’re almost never getting interrupted while riding or camping.

Obfuscation

Obfuscation decreases the likelihood of hostels detecting you when not in battle stance. If you want to play as a stealth thief, this might be a good augment to have for you. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a really necessary augment to have.

Allure

Allure enables you to raise your affinity with people more easily by 10%. When you gift items, or when you do things that make them happier, you’ll get 10% more affinity. You won’t be needing this in the game, so it’s not really something you would want to have.

Warfarer

Zeal

Zeal reduces the stamina consumed when performing a weapon skill by 5%. It can add up if you have a lot of stamina-focused augments. It’s good on vocations where you’ll be facing stamina management issues.

Dynamism

Dynamism reduces the amount by which weight affects your movement speed. The way I see it, is that it reduces your weight by one category. If you’re normal weight, it’ll be showing up as light. It’s another quality of life, as you’ll be running over and over in this game.

Final Thoughts on Augmentations

Augments are a way for you to boost whatever your character or pawns need to be able to progress in the game. There will be good combinations of augments depending on what you need, so it still is up to you to decide which augments will be best for your character. If your character needs that extra strength, or if you want to climb faster, then by all means, go for those augments. Your enjoyment in playing the game matters the most.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Warfarer Build Guide, we’ll be talking about the advanced vocation Warfarer in Dragon’s Dogma 2. We’ll be talking about how and where to unlock it, what the basics and mechanics of the vocation is, stamina management, and good pawn combinations. We’ll be covering all the information you will need to start playing as a Warfarer Build in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

How to Unlock the Warfarer Vocation

The first thing you will need to do to unlock the Warfarer vocation is to head to the Volcano Island Camp, which is near the southernmost part of the map. You will need to talk to Lamond, who is located at the Geyser Hamlet. He will ask you to bring him an item, a Newt Liqueur. You will have to bring three of it to Lamond, as he’ll ask for more when you give one to him. Doing this task will unlock the vocation for you. You can buy Newt Liqueur from Higg’s Tavern Stand in Bakbattahl.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Warfarer Build – A Warfarer’s Role

Warfarers are a jack of all trades. They can do whatever you want them to do, so you can use this vocation to fill the gap of your party. You can set up a warfarer as a tank and healer hybrid, or a healer and DPS, or anything in between. The downside of being a warfarer is that they will only have three skills to use between classes. Basically, the role of a warfarer is what you want it to be.

As the warfarer can be anything you want to be, any vocation will do as a pawn for your character. For example, you might want a mage as a main pawn if you’re planning on being a tank. You’ll generally just want a vocation to fill the gap of the playstyle you want to do as a warfarer.

Basics of a Warfarer in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The warfarer can equip up to 9 weapons, which you can change the order in your inventory. As stated above, the warfarer can only have three skills, so six of those weapons won’t be able to use any of the class-related skills to them. If you really want to, you can, as you can use the basic attacks of those weapons. Realistically, three weapons and classes would be the optimal set-up. If you’re wondering about the equipment weight, the heaviest weapon’s weight will be the only one considered. Having this in mind, you can make your character’s carry weight lighter by equipping the weapons.

The warfarer will have a skill that is the entire point of the vocation, Rearmament. You’ll learn this skill from Lamond, when you were unlocking this vocation. Rearmament allows you to swap between all the weapons you have equipped. This will take one of your skill slots, so a warfarer can only have three skills aside from Rearmament.

As a warfarer, you can use different skills from different classes. However, your weapon type must match the skills you have equipped. If you have a greatsword skill equipped, you can only use it while equipping a greatsword.

A big advantage of being a warfarer is that you can choose to use whichever armor you want to wear. You could play as a mage while wearing heavy armor, or basically be any vocation you want wearing any armor you want. You can get all the protection you need if you want to play as a support, or if that’s your kind of playstyle.

A downside of a warfarer is that you’ll only have three skill slots to use. You can’t use any ultimate skill, a trade-off for being a versatile vocation.

Useful Skills as a Warfarer in Dragon’s Dogma 2

The unique thing about the warfarer is that you can use any spell that you have unlocked. It is recommended to unlock a lot of skills first to be a warfarer, so that you won’t be limited to combinations of skills that you have in mind. Here, we’ll be talking about what skills and combinations can be used, to give you ideas on what you might want your playstyle to be as a warfarer.

Galvanize | Anodyne

A decent combination would be a sorcerer and a mage. You could equip strong-hitting spells from a sorcerer, while having support and heal spells that would help your party. A good skill combination for the two vocations would be Galvanize and Anodyne.

Thief | Archer

Another good pairing would be a thief and an archer. This is similar to the strider in the first Dragon’s Dogma. If you want to recreate that, you can use basic attacks of the archer while having the skills of a thief while climbing and jumping onto monsters.

Mage | Archer

An interesting combo would be a mage and archer. You’ll be able to buff yourself with elemental affinity then using a bow to deal an elemental type of damage. You can set enemies on fire, or freeze them, from a distance. You can also debuff yourself or use Anodyne to heal.

Generally, archers and magick archers would work well if you’re a warfarer as these vocations heavily use regular attacks. Having a vocation that uses normal attacks regularly would free up skill slots. I would recommend that you try to stick to only two vocations if possible.

Suggested Equipment and Augments as a Warfarer

Equipment-wise, it will depend on what your set-up and preferred combinations are as a warfarer. I would recommend you wear heavy armor so that you’ll have more protection, as that’s one of the advantages of being a warfarer.

You’ll unlock two augments as a warfarer, both of these augments are very useful to have. Unlocking these two augments alone makes playing warfarer worth it, as you’ll also be able to use it for other vocations.

The post Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trickster Build Guide appeared first on Fextralife.

In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trickster Build Guide, we’ll be talking about the advance vocation Trickster in Dragon’s Dogma 2. We’ll be talking about the Trickster vocation, from how to unlock it, its playstyle, skills to use, its basics, and the equipment and augments to use. This article will contain everything you need to know about the Trickster Build in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Unlocking the Trickster Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2

To be able to unlock the Trickster vocation, you will need to get to Checkpoint Rest Town. You’ll need to talk to Luz in the temple on the east side of the town. If you speak with Luz, she will give you the Trickster vocation. This is one of the fastest advanced vocations to unlock, so don’t forget to do this if you’re in the area.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trickster Build – A Trickster’s Role

Trickster Builds in Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be the tank of the group. If you have a tank as your main pawn, you might want to change the skills they have as they will be redundant to have as a trickster. Tricksters attract enemies to their Simulacrum, basically taunting the enemies to hit them. Tricksters can also support their party as one of their skills provide an attack boost for the group.

You will be a pure support as a trickster, as you will have no damage-dealing skills. You’ll essentially be distracting enemies with your Simulacrum and buffing your teammates with your spells. Even though you will be a tank for the group, you should not be directly receiving damage from your enemies because the Simulacrum should do that for you. If you do want to deal damage to enemies, you can pick up items which you can throw towards enemies.

A good main pawn pairing for tricksters will be a mage. A mage will be able to heal you, since you will eventually be taking damage as a tank. Other vocations will also work well with a trickster, but having a mage as a main pawn will be more beneficial for you.

Basic Trickster Combat Mechanics in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trickster Build basic attacka are called Beveiling Fumes. It does almost no damage, but it taunts the enemies towards them. If you have a Simulacrum summoned, the enemy will attack the illusion instead. Once you have other skills unlocked, Beveiling Fumes will be pretty much useless on a trickster.

Effigial Incense is a skill that creates a simulacrum, or an illusion of your character. The simulacrum draws attention away from your party. You would want to use this skill when you’re far away from your party, so they’ll be able to attack freely while your simulacrum gets the enemies’ attention.

Invoking Essence teleports your simulacrum directly to where you are. This will be a good spell to reposition your simulacrum, as re-summoning it as there is a significant cast time to do that. You might get attacked by enemies while you use Effigial Incense, so this skill will be what you will use for repositioning your simulacrum. By holding the R1 button, your simulacrum will keep following you.

Mending Vapor heals your simulacrum when you use it. You’ll have to use this periodically as your simulacrum always takes damage, and resummoning it takes a long time to cast.

Enthralling Aroma lets you attach your simulacrum on enemies, which’ll make other enemies attack it. It’s hard to pull off as you have to walk right up to an enemy, which a trickster shouldn’t be doing. Generally, you will use this on huge enemies if there are other small ones around to attack it. Otherwise, if you’re only facing one monster, this skill will do nothing at all.

Stamina Management as a Trickster in DD2

Stamina management can be a bit tricky for a Dragon’s Dogma 2 Trickster Build. You won’t be attacking enemies, but you’ll often have stamina problems as a trickster. Since you don’t really attack enemies, you tend to spam your skills to make sure you generate threat. This uses up stamina every time you use your spells. Also, you’ll find that most of your stamina consumption will be from sprinting in combat because you’re always moving in the battlefield to avoid enemies or reposition your simulacrum. Make sure to have a light equipment weight to not consume more stamina. Also, don’t forget to use consumables that replenish stamina if you’re in a bad spot.

Useful Skills as a Trickster in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Sweeping Shroud | Suffocating Shroud

Suffocating Shroud is the default skill, so you’ll be starting out with this one. It is an AOE spell that generates threat towards you or your simulacrum. When you first summon your simulacrum, you should use this skill to draw attention to it. Once Suffocating Shroud attracts the enemies, you’ll be dragging your simulacrum alongside with you to keep aggro away from your party.

Aromatic Rally | Aromatic Resurgence

Aromatic Resurgence buffs your party’s damage. You won’t be attacking enemies as a trickster, so this will help your party with the lack of damage your vocation has. This skill will deplete health from your allies, so it is important to have a mage in your party. You’ll most likely be using this skill in long fights.

Latching Effigy | Binding Effigy

What Latching Effigy does is you’ll launch a simulacrum towards a distant enemy, which possesses it. If the simulacrum hits a target, it will latch onto it for enemies to attack. However, if it it misses, you will have to resummon your simulacrum. This is better than Enthralling Aroma, as you can do this from a safe range. You’ll only want to use this skill if there are multiple enemies.

Espial Incense | Visitant Aura

Espial Incense is more of an exploration skill than a combat skill. This allows you to detach from your physical body as a spirit, floating around the landscape to scout or look at areas that are hard to reach.

Suggested Equipment and Augments as a Trickster

A Tickster has an augment called Detection, which alerts you of Seeker’s Tokens or Wakestone shards that are in your vicinity. You’ll be hearing an audio cue, which gets louder when you get closer to the item. This augment comes in handy for exploration. You’ll want to have augments that will buff your team, since they do the heavy lifting in fights. Threat generation augments will also be good, since you’ll want to direct enemies towards you.

Equipment-wise, you’ll want to wear armor that gives you the most protection since you’ll be getting hit periodically. Upgrading weapons as a trickster wouldn’t matter, as you aren’t going to deal damage. However, you’ll want to upgrade your armor since you don’t have a way of avoiding attacks as a trickster.
