What’s New in 1.0

New masteries are heading to the game. The Falconer, the third mastery class for the Rogue, will join the game in version 1.0, along with the Warlock mastery for the Acolyte. You will also be able to access two new item factions: the Circle of Fortune and the Merchant’s Guild. You can switch between them at any time, depending on your playstyle and preferences. The Circle of Fortune rewards you with more loot and higher rarity, while the Merchant’s Guild allows you to trade with other players easily.

The Warlock class takes the ability to inflict curses and just runs with it. The class has five unique skills which are Anguish, Penance, Decrepify, Acid Skin and Torment. Each are deadly while tackling different elements. If you want an in-depth look at the class check out our overview in Last Epoch Reveals the Curse-Heavy Warlock Mastery.

The other mastery is the Falconer which uses her tactical skills to dominate the battle field with her falcon’s razor sharp talons and her swift blade manoeuvres.

UI & Graphics

Last Epoch 1.0 will also let you play offline, and will also bring major upgrades to the game’s UI and graphics. You will also notice nice new atmospheric weather effects. There are also 2.5D cinematics in the intro and throughout the game.

The game will also undergo a huge overhaul in terms of balance, with many changes and fixes to items, skills, gameplay, visuals, and more.

New Special Item to Harbour

A special appearance from actor David Harbour will make it into the game via a special item. The Last Epoch fan will leave his own mark with his very own helmet in the game. This isn’t Harbour first forray into video games as he also scheduled to appear in the upcoming horror survival remake Alone in the Dark in March. However, fans of Harbour can gain a small dose with his customised helm arriving with the launch.

New Skills

New skills will also be making into 1.0 with the new Primalist Skill Gathering Storm which rains down bolts of lightening. Also a redesigned Tempest Strike which has elements wind, frost and thunder.

While the Paladin gains the new skill Healing Hands which can help keep allies alive while inflicting damage on enemies found in Eterra.

New Weapons

As we discussed in our overview of the classes, new items will arrive in 1.0 including the Falcon Fists and Spine of Malatros. Falcon Fists turns the player’s attacks into melee hits that explode on impact. While the Spine of Malatros turns the Cthonic Fissure into fiery flame whips which leave ruin in the wake and look awesome.

Maintenance

Players should note that the game will be heading into maintenance for 24 hours ahead of the launch on February 20th at 6:00 PM CET. So don’t panic if you can’t access your game during that time. Players who are playing in offline mode can continue to access the game as long as they’re still logged in. Once 1.0 goes live the offline mode will be here to stay, so it won’t be an issue in the future. If you do get logged off during maintenance via unfortunate d/c you won’t be able to log back in until the 24 hours is up.
