Elden Ring Pyromancer Build Guide

In this Elden Ring Pyromancer Build Guide, I’ll be showing you my Pyromancer build. This is a 100% spellcaster build that’s aimed at NG+ that only uses Fire magic. This is an NG+ build as this requires equipment that could only be obtained by playing through most of the game. You have to go to a lot of different places and know a lot about different places, so I feel that you’re mostly going to be at the end of a playthrough and you won’t get to experience using this build. This is a build you can play from the very beginning of an NG+ playthrough, and it is a ton of fun to play.

Elden Ring Pyromancer Build – Equipment

We’re going to use the Erdtree Seal. This has 353 incantation scaling at 80 Faith at +10 upgrade. This thing is basically the best seal you can use that’s a pure Faith-scaling seal at 80 Faith. If you’re casting an incantation, you’ll want to use this seal once we hit 80 Faith, which we are getting in this build. It’ll also allow us to cast spells with very high incantation scaling.

In our offhand, we’ll be using the Giant’s Seal. This is to give us a +20% damage boost to the spells we’re using in this build. This will allow us to get the higher incantation scaling of the Erdtree Seal when we’re casting, but also get the 20% damage boost by holding this in your offhand. You don’t even need to upgrade this, you just need to hold it in your offhand.

You can also use the Godslayer’s Seal on your offhand if you’re using Godskin Incantations. You can rotate between the two seals on your offhand in different situations. There’s a case to use it in this build, but it’s not one that we are going to use very often.

When it comes to armor, I’m using the Perfumer Set. It’s kind of a mix and match combination between the Perfumer Traveler’s Set and the Perfumer Set. You just need some sort of armor that allows you to do a light or medium roll. Ideally, you’d probably want to light roll with this build to give you more distance when you’re rolling. It doesn’t really matter whether you have light or medium armor, as long as you’re not doing a heavy roll.

There are helmets that give you Faith, which would be nice for this build. It’s not going to be a significant amount of Faith, so it’s not super important for this build. It’s not going to make or break it at all.

Elden Ring Pyromancer Build – Talismans

When it comes to talismans, I’ll be using these: Fire Scorpion Charm, Ritual Sword Talisman, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, and Godfrey Icon.

I have the Fire Scorpion Charm to increase our fire damage. All the spells we’ll be using are fire damage, so that’s perfect.

Fire Scorpion Charm

We also have Ritual Sword Talisman, which increases all of our damage by 10% when we’re at max health. We’re going to be aiming to always have max health with this build, so this is a great talisman to use for it.

We’ll be using Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, which will give us even more physical defense. You don’t have a lot of physical defense when you’re wearing light armor, especially when we’re using the Fire Scorpion Charm.

Lastly, we have Godfrey Icon. This increases the damage of your spells that are charged. We have three spells here that are chargeable, or four if you’re using Black Flame. Having four chargeable spells, using this talisman is a good choice for this build.

You could also use Flock’s Canvas Talisman to further increase your incantation damage. You can replace Godfrey Icon with this if you find yourself not charging spells that often, or you can replace Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman if you’re not really getting hit that much.

Elden Ring Pyromancer Build – Spells and Gameplay

The first spell we’ll be using is Burn O Flame. This is sort of an AoE fire spell. You might remember seeing this in Demon Souls or Dark Souls, they have a version of this spell where you kind of put your hands into the ground and fire columns go up. This is a very situational spell, so it’s probably the least used out of all the ones we’re using. Where it really excels is when you can get under big enemies like dragons, because each flame column can hit the dragon for its own damage. You can absolutely melt any enemy you can get under, but this is primarily for dragons.

The next spell we use for this build is Flame of the Fell God. This is a spell that shoots up a fireball into the air, which goes on medium distance, then detonates. This locks on to the target, tries to track it, then it’ll detonate right after. It doesn’t go very far, so it’s best used on aggressive bosses or difficult enemies. You should use this before you aggro them, so they’ll run to you immediately and detonate on them. If they aren’t very aggressive, you have to get really close to the enemy in order for this to hit. It’s hard to use in a close-range scenario, when an enemy is right up on you. It’s better to use it to initiate combat, so that the enemy will charge onto it. I like using it before the boss fight, then following up with Giantsflame Take Thee so it’ll explode at the same time.

Up next is Giantsflame Take Thee. This is sort of your bread-and-butter boss-killer spell. This thing hits like an absolute truck. It has a huge FP cost, so it’s not something that you’re going to use all the time. Any time you’re facing a boss or a difficult enemy, this is what you want to use. You want to charge this up for that extra damage from Godfrey Icon, while also having a bigger explosion radius. This thing is not only good for bosses, but also for enemies that are tightly packed together.

We’re also using Flame, Fall Upon Them. This spell is what you’ll be using regularly, if you’re playing an incantation build. In the previous builds, this would be your Black Flame. This spell costs 18 FP to cast, which is kind of expensive, but not that expensive for what it does. We have a lot of FP with this build, so this’ll be your go-to spell when facing regular enemies. It’ll usually one-shot most enemies if they don’t know you’re there, and it sort of fans out in an AoE. This is great because it can take out packs of enemies. If you’re fighting big enemies, multiple fireballs from this can hit them if you’re far enough. Another thing I like about this spell is that it’s really effective on horseback. I find that this spell is much better than Black Flame, even if Black Flame deals more damage, as it can hit targets easier.

elden-ring-price-guide

The last offensive spell, which is optional, is Black Flame. You can use Black Flame when you need a little bit more distance. Spells such as Giantsflame Take Thee just doesn’t have a very long distance. Black Flame can get you further, so you can pick enemies off from a long distance. This is a pretty accurate spell to use over long distances, so you can juggle these spells.

Besides these things, we have Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength. Golden Vow gives you damage and protection, which are both great for this build. This has a long duration, so you can buff with this regularly. Flame, Grant Me Strength increases your fire damage, which all of your spells are. It doesn’t have a long duration, so you typically use this when you walk into a boss fight or tough enemies.

There are other fire spells you can use for this build. Personally, I found these ones to be the most effective. If you use the spells I suggested, I don’t think you really have a need for other fire spells. You can add them if you want, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Elden Ring Pyromancer Build – Attributes

When it comes to stats for this build, I currently have these stats for level 158: 50 Vigor, 50 Mind, 12 Endurance, 8 Strength, 12 Dexterity, 16 Intelligence, 80 Faith, and 9 Arcane. You don’t need any Intelligence, Strength, Dexterity, or Arcane for this build. Those stats are simply what they are because I started as an Astrologer. If you started as a different class, you’re going to have a more-optimized stat spread here because you wouldn’t have wasted points in those things.

er-best-caster-attribute-spread

50 Vigor is there to give you enough health in order to survive hits. You have decent protection when you’re buffed with Golden Vow. You also have Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. You’ll be sitting at about 30% resistances, which isn’t bad for light armor. You should take this up to 60% throughout NG+.

50 Mind is there because all you’re doing with this build is casting spells. Every single attack you do is a spell. You use FP with every attack, and some of those spells costs a lot of FP. This gives you 300 FP, which allows you to cast and not worry about FP running out. You should have at least 7 or so blue flasks, or you can get more FP if you feel like you need more. It really is up to you, but you should have tons of FP with this build.

Lastly, we have 80 Faith in order to hit the last soft cap for our seals. You’ll probably want to take this up to 99 at some point. You’re not going to get a lot of damage out of it, but it’s one of the few stats we’ll be needing for this build.

We essentially only have three stats to put points in for this build, but you can increase your Endurance if you want. I put a couple of points here to give you more stamina for casting, and also to increase your equip load so you could light roll.

Elden Ring Pyromancer Build – Final Thoughts

If you’re using the Flask of Wondrous Physick, you’re going to want to use the Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear. You want to increase your fire damage, which is great as all your spells are fire damage. You can also use either the Greenburst Crystal Tear to increase your stamina recovery, or Cerulean Hidden Tear to have 10 seconds of free spellcasting. I usually use these before casting my buffs, so that I won’t drain my FP for the start of a fight.

Lastly, if you’re thinking of which Great Rune you should use for this build, I wouldn’t recommend Godrick’s Great Rune as this isn’t a stat-hungry build. Radahn’s Great Rune is great for this build as it increases your HP, FP, and stamina. You don’t have a lot of points in Endurance, so getting more stamina is good. This gives you all the things you need since you won’t be investing a lot of points in those stats.
